Certified Scribe has caught up with One Dayers Spit Syndicate, to talk to them about their new sophomore album Exile. Exile is out now on Obese Records, featuring production from Adit, M-Phazes, Cam Bluff & J-Squared. I think there’s friendly competition between all crews who are of the same age, or who are on a somewhat similar level in terms of experience.

Fluent Form checks in with the Certified Scribe for a quick back and forth on the new album The Furnance (out now on Crate Cartel via Obese Distribution).

I’m diligent with my writing and I make sure to write everyday and as Geko handles most of the production, we share a similar work ethic. He’s always pumping out the beats and that allows us to make quality music without taking strenuous amounts of time to do so.

BOSS Radio is a show on Bondi FM in you guessed it, Bondi! They recently did a nice interview with Bliss and you can check it out over at the BOSS Radio Show MySpace. It’s a short interview (5:40) but its really nice to hear a new interview with just Bliss and no one else.

They delve into what’s happening now and a few past hilarities like recording on the dual boom boxes, it’s definately worth a listen if you’re a fan of Bliss N Eso so go check it out.

You can tune into BOSS Radio at Thursday 12-2pm at Bondi FM or on 88.0 FM in the Bondi area.

Some of you have been bouncing in here looking for a Raph Boogie Interview. Funny thing is i wrote this little bit earlier today when you were looking, so my apologies for not having it up earlier. The gracious sheriff rosco has posted up a number of interviews in an embed on the forums at ozhiphop.com one of which is an interview with Raph Boogie. Check it and other wicked interviews from Top Billin’ on RRR after the break.

Top Billin are absolutel killin’ it they’ve been posting videos on youtube of wicked freestyle sessions, having artists come in and doing live things, etc. It’s just great to see. I’ll post more on the youtube stuff later.

Hailing from Sydney, with beats by Chasm Skryptcha has recently released his first EP, Left To Write on Obese Records. It’s a five track EP with the lead being Runnin’ Away which i suppose is the popular choice, but theres definately better lyrics to be had down into Turtles, Food For Thoughts, Ask Yourself & State Of Mind.

Sage Francis Feature @ Music Feeds

Over at Music Feeds theres a great feature by Michael Carr with Miami’s Sage Francis. Overall it’s a nice piece that provides some great quotes from Sage and a really good insight into who and what Sage Francis is.

“Mainstream ANYTHING is typically a watered down version of something that used to be potent and powerful. I don’t have much of an opinion on mainstream hip-hop. As far as I can tell it is manufactured for the sake of background noise while ordinary people do uninteresting things. Sometimes interesting stuff slips through the cracks and gives pop culture the kind of flavour it needs to keep seeming cool. I don’t know, I don’t really think about that stuff too much. I’ve never been all that interested in things that are forced on me.”

For me Sage Francis holds a special spot, for quite some time I had a good friend listening to him and i really wasn’t feeling it. He kept telling me Sage was amazing and i just wasn’t listening, the music wasn’t reallly doing it for me so i wasn’t bothering to listen to Sage. Then one day I stumbled across this:

Needless to say, i linked my mate and ate my words. Sage truely is a great MC and if you search youtube you’ll find plenty of great videos of him destroying people on the mic.

Brokentooth Entertainment frontman Newsense got into an interview over at bigspin.tv a few weeks back, unfortunately we weren’t paying enough attention and have only recently found it.

Check it out it’s a great read, providing a nice insight into his and Ciecmate‘s recent album, A Tale of Two Cities. Which by the way if you haven’t already picked up, you should because this is without a doubt going to be one of the best releases of 2009. It’s an early predicition i know but theres no doubt this album will be a finisher for the end of the year, it’s that good.

I like to have a laugh, thats about it, if i can think of something funny and turn it into a verse or whatever, my job is done. As for the message, i dont like to preach, i just like to put the ideas out there, i’m not trying to tell people how they should think, im just giving them a different angle. There’s a lot of politics in australia that aren’t touched on, or they are but they aren’t delivered in the way that i think they should, so thats what i do when i feel like it, i talk about some real shit.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of copping Homemade Bombs yet, i suggest you get into it and check it out. Theres tracks produced by Jaytee, Gareth Hudson, 76 & Trials and while it’s a short CD (being an EP), it’s definately got some gold in it and shows that hopefully theres more Briggs to come yet. If you’re down with iTunes, then you’re shit outta luck, this ones just not on the iTunes store.

Pez Interview @ Certified Scribe

Cameron over at Certified Scribe has posted another great interview, this time with MC Pez. I’m about oo 12 days late on this, but it’s nice to let everyone know anyway.

There’s no doubt our society is geared towards people conforming to the “norm” anyway. But also people in general seem to prefer to follow the crowd and fit in rather than just do what they actually want, which I can’t stand.

Check it out, it’s quotes like the above, that show Pez’ true character. Personally I find Pez refreshing, but i get the impression alot people don’t enjoy his interpretation of hip-hop. Don’t hate, relate.
