The Last Kinection are an indigenous Australian hip-hop crew from Newcastle, NSW. Formed in 2006 they first got some attention reworking the Peter Allen tune “I Still Call Australia Home”. Their first album was titled Nutches, which was released in 2008; you can grab off iTunes. Perhaps this video is a teaser for something new?

The Gold Coast’s M-Phazes drops his debut album titled Good Gracious on February 25th. If you don’t know who M-Phazes is, you’ve been living under a rock for far too long. M-Phazes is doing what everyone in australian hip hop wishes they could, breaking the US market, while still calling Australia home. Sydney sider Phatchance is set to tour most of the country over March 2010 with Coptic Soldier, starting in Busselton, WA and ending in Mullumbimby, NSW. Some of the shows are free, some are going to cost you a pittance; either way i think you should be in attendance.
