If you asked me over the last year who my favourite MC in the country was, it’s likely i responded “Social Change“, you’d say “Who?” and i’d proceed to walk you through YouTube (here), some music and recently some freestyles on Top Billin’ (check it out here on Sound Cloud at 13 minutes in).  Social Change hails from Adelaide and is made up of MC Social Change, Producer Funkwig and DJ Snair, all coming together to produce some of the phattest hip-hop in the country.

More freebies from the Australian hip hop community.  Coming straight out of Hobart (or the Gold Coast now it may seem) is mdusu dropping a free mixtape titled The Excess Baggage Mixtape, who you may know from mdusu&dameza and Heads of State. mdusu explains on his MySpace blog that this mixtape was basically a vehicle to help him get some things off his chest and put them in the past; music, especially hip hop is great for this kind of thing.

Crate Cartel serve up another fine free EP to the masses.  This time Fatty Phew drops the vocaloid mastery while Alter Ego steps up for production alongside DJ Bogues for the cuts, all under the the guise of the best things in life begin free.   I haven’t had a chance to check all of this out yet, so i’m not really sure what to expect, according to the press you should be expecting pure hip hop.  Snap up a copy of some pure hip hop from Fatty Phew & crew now.
