Every now and then labels or the companies promoting their product companies send me copies of stuff to enjoy and review, it’s a great side effect of running this website and doing the show on Goonbag Radio. Unfortunately a lot of the time I’ve already got a copy or got a copy coming and I end up with doubles, so I pass them on.

The Hilltop Hoods drop the next video clip from their recent album State of The Art, The Light You Burned feat. Trials. The video clip features a very sweet cartoon style that seems to be an evolution of what was used in the video for Clown Prince. According to the lads Facebook posts, this animated clip was inspired by cartoons of old, especially the works of Hanna-Barbera. It’ll take you back to a time when cartoons were an artform, drawing inspiration from the likes of The Jetsons, Magilla Gorilla and The Flintstones.
You can grab the Hilltop Hoods latest album State of The Art from iTunes now, also available is the Still Standing EP, which contains instrumentals and remixes of Still Standing.

The Hilltop Hoods let a bit of info out via Twitter this morning. The information? well it seems after leaving Obese they’ve managed to keep/hold onto/get back the rights to the albums they released while signed to Obese. The upside of this is that now they’re free to reissue those releases and they’re doing just that.

The crew over at allaussie hip hop have come up with a very unique idea (in hip hop circles anyway) and are proud to present you with their first ever post for their monthly cooking column. First on the chopping block is Mr Pressure from the Hilltop Hoods, Pressure quickly breaks down his “Drunken Lamb” recipe, though i’m pretty sure you wont need to be drunk to cook it, but it’ll probably make it more fun.
They’re also running a competition in conjunction with this post, with your chance to win posters, stickers and a CD or two, all you have to do is cook Mr Pressure’s Drunken Lamb and send them a photo, easy much? Head over to the Allaussie Hip Hop Blog now and learn how to be a Pressure Cooker.

A lovely article over at ABC News was brought to my attention today, the article in question titled “Hip-hop ‘a driving force’ in Oz music industry“ is all about Australia’s favourite son’s of hip hop, the Hilltop Hoods and their six ARIA nominations. The interview goes on talking to Pressure and discussing the hoods but then throws in a doozie.. a picture of Bliss N Eso subtitled as “Hilltop Hoods are nominated for six ARIAS. (Getty Images: Kristian Dowling)” (which has now been removed 4 hours after it was published, however we have a screenshot below).
