So I missed posting this one when it first came out, truth be told my heads just been somewhere else lately. Urthboy is bringing a really good minimal internet marketing campaign to his new album, the album Spitshine but the suspense has been building for months. Part of his little “campaign” was some YouTube videos that spends a few days with Urthy & crew as they record the Spitshine album old school. Recording studios are so 1990, you can make killer recordings in a better environment, Urthboy prooves that here.  Check it below.

Urthboy has dropped another track from his forthcoming album Spitshine. The single titled “Ready To Go” will be available digitally July 17th on iTunes with no plans for a physical media copy. You can check out Ready To Go right now via the YouTube clip after the break, on Urthboy’s Facebook or MySpace. The album Spitshine, is due out August 14th on Elefant Traks.

Over the last few days on Twitter Urthboy was tweeting on the importance of family stories. You know those stories your grandparents have been telling you for years that most of you don’t care about?  well they’re important, they shape and define you as a person.  Anyway, i’m not sure whether all this tweeting spurred on his guest post or whether the post spurred the tweeting, but he’s now gone and done a short guest post on Mark Pollard’s site.  It’s a short inciteful read reminding you that theres more to the world than everyday life and that sometimes stopping to listen or ask questions to the people is the best thing you can do.
